How to Get The Essence of Life Drink in The Sims 4

There are so many times that I want my sims to live forever but don’t want to cheat or turn off aging, so I need to do this through gameplay. There are many ways to do this from the potion of youth to the essence of life you’ll find something in many different styles of gameplay to reverse time for your sims.

What is the Essence of Life?

The essence of life is a consumable beverage in The Sims 4 that when consumed the sim’s age goes backwards by a few days and gives them a happy moodlet. This is amazing because it lets your sims live slightly longer so you can live out all their dreams, let them spend more time with their families, or do more evil things like locking sims in evil basements.

How to Get the Essence of Life

There is one way to get the essence of life and that’s through having a sim die from a cowplant! The cowplant death type is a hilarious thing in The Sims 4 and teaches everyone not to take cake from weird plants in someone’s garden.

To get the essence of life you’ll first need to get a cowplant on your lot, then proceed to fail to feed that cowplant for a minimum of 12 hours until a piece of cake comes out of their mouth. This is a great thing, you’ll want to them click on the cowplant and sacrifice a sim to this death type by choosing to eat the cake.

There is a 50% chance that the sim will die from eating the cake, if it doesn’t happen your sim will survive, get a bad moodlet and then you can milk the cowplant for an essence of something else. It’ll depend on the mood your sim was in when they were swallowed and spit out, for example, if they were feeling focused you’ll get the essence of focus.

When your sim successfully dies their tombstone will show up on the ground and the cowplant will be satisfied. You’ll then want another sim to go up to the cowplant and choose to milk it, which will give you the essence of life. Drink this from your sim’s inventory and they will gain a few extra days of life.
